Kakolait was already known by so many people, and now they're upgrading their cafe. So on 14th of January 2017, I was invited to their 2nd Floor Grand Opening. Kakolait was already famous for their speciality in chocolate desserts and also their waffle. So it's gonna be a really sweet post today!

[Alviansilver]

I'd try this cafe before but the problem is when my first time coming here, I ordered their marshmallow dark chocolate drink but it just taste too sweet although it was dark chocolate, and then I try their waffle signature. The waffle texture was so rough and dense, it was not like the usual waffle. It tasted weird the texture was like cookies and it was like a heavy meal IMHO, so I was a lil' bit sceptical, no hating on Kakolait.

The 2nd floor was really spacious and stunning, especially when I came here, the table's decoration was really beautiful with so many flowers, candle and metal decoration. It was really nice and feels like having a fairy themed tea party.

The 2nd floor was perfect for a meet up or even a meeting or small event like bridal shower, etc. It was purposely for people who want to booked the place. You can book their whole 2nd floor or also half of the room because they also provide it with the partition too. So we were given the main course that only available today by chef Alvin Tanudjaya.

Salmon Mi Cuit with Crispy Skin, Cucumber Basil Salsa, Orange Salad and Sweet Corn

For the entree, they gave us Salmon Mi Cuit. Salmon Mi cuit is basically a half cooked salmon, and for the garnishes, it served with the cucumber salsa, orange and sweet corn. What I really love about this food was, the acidity of the orange and the freshness of cucumber salsa really mix well with the salmon. On the top of that, that crispy skin was really crisp!

[18 hours Wagyu Tri Tip]

18 Hours Wagyu Tri Tip with Smoked Greens, Potato Textures, Brandy Juice

For the main, we had this beautiful 18 hours Wagyu Tri Tip. You may not think that this portion is a big deal. Honestly the meat was hard to eat. It wasn't that tender, and meat with potato is not a good combination since we ate the salmon entree before. Honestly I prefer the salmon more than the beef. But the beef was juicy and sauced was on point.

[Kakolait Waffle]

Remember the things I said about my last visit ? I was shocked about their new waffle. Their waffle finally have the crisp I like, it was light, crunchy and baked perfectly. On the top of that was my fav topping, yeasshhh banana. The amount of sweetness was perfect and the visual also stand out. It was divine! I love the waffle!

[Kakolait]

For the drink also, it was a really a stagger. I thought the drink would be rally sweet like the last time but it was really good this time. I really enjoyed it very much, it was really nice. I ordered the same drink as my last time visit. It was the American marshmallow dark chocolate.
